We all know Washburn University is a special place for students - whether it's the one-on-one attention from faculty, hundreds of organizations students can be involved in or the opportunities available for internships in the capital city. The Washburn University admissions team does an exceptional job of showing off our campus and what it means to be an Ichabod. However, now more than ever, freshmen are choosing universities based on the scholarships they can receive to help them financially as they get through school.
Cynthia Heath, ba '71, has pledged a $25,000 dollar-for-dollar match for the university to increase the scholarship amount given to freshmen to attend Washburn. The goal of this fund is to allow students to pursue their dreams by making their college choice a little easier and their financial burden a little lighter. It also helps Washburn recruit the best and brightest students to our campus.
